Problems are, for the most part, preventable. Most things that happen to life can be avoided if you're smart enough and actually pay attention. Like you said.... Nexon tempts people in fking ridiculous ways to spend money on the game, but they also have ways for you to get around those. The MTS makes NX accessible to anybody. You don't have to spend anything on Maple ever.
Hell, I've been playing Dragon Nest for the past 3 weeks and I can already see the issues of not having NX. The bag space is extremely limited (without NX) and you can't even mail more than 5 items a day (without NX) to clear bag space. You also can not auction more than 30 items IN A WEEK (without NX). But... just like with Maple, there's ways around it without spending anything. Make a 2nd account and just trade yourself items onto a mule and use their 30 auction slots. Keep making mules as you need more space, and then delete them when there's no more auction slots left.
Nobody forces you to give Nexon a dime, which is why my problem with Nexon has never ever been with NX. They might tempt people but it's their own fault for giving into temptation. With maple they even give you a way to make NX without giving them anything and hopefully something similar comes to dragon nest. My problem with Nexon is, and always will be, the insane amount of hackers. If I start seeing hackers in dragon nest then I can leave knowing I didn't spend anything but my time. I haven't seen any hackers in WoW so I'll continue to play it.
If I get hacked then I have no one to blame but myself for letting someone play my account, or answering a phony e-mail, or even playing a game with a database leak (hmmm where's that from???). I don't sit here and blame outside sources for problems (like people blaming Nexon that they bought NX).
