When I started, 3rd job wasn't available yet. I didn't know anything about what the later advancements were, and neither did anybody else in Global. For that matter, when I advanced to 3rd job the highest level monsters were Werewolves, Lycanthropes, Bains, Dark Yeti & Pepes.

And when I started, Mages were percieved as the weakest class, because nobody anticipated 4th job. Now everyone's complaining at the reverse.

Spears and pole arms are long, huge weapons and even though there's a difference in damage between slashing and stabbing, they can apply the most damage at once compared to other warriors.
Those weapons are two-handed weapons, so shields can't be used, and the attacking speed are generally slow, but those weaknesses are covered with guard-oriented and speed-oriented skills to make the Spearman the most dangerous warrior around.

I mean nevermind half of it is for the wrong class, their advice is also pretty screwed up. Threaten is not some super useful skill. Spears and Polearms are not able to apply "the most damage" compared to other warriors.

The guide still doesn't have any 3rd or 4th job information.

Read what it says about the damage. The attacking ability may not be on par...
That statement alone shows that it 'may' be weaker than other classes.
Also, there's always SW and asking your friends whether or not to convert to other classes before you got too far.

Abilities? This game doesn't not require many abilities. You only need a lot of time on your hand, be able to scam people, and memorize prices.
