The 3 options that come up when someone does a special are counter options when someone tries to use a special. Those options come up when you have enough ki. The game is kinda strategy, and you win by obviously beating them up, but by also using supers and etc at the right time. Goku never threw 5 kame-ha waves one after another. He waits till the time is right! The 3 options are, going from least ki to most, is Guard, Dodge and Intercept. Guard lets you block I'm guessing half of the damage, Dodge is you dodge it lol, might be wrong on this one, and Intercept you pretty much say gdfo that weak pomegranate and counter attack them.
The part where you try to do your attack like flying kicks and ki blast during your combo (those green and purple circles that have the fighters about to uppercut each other or something o-o)has 2 options, 1 increase your ki (or spirit gauge not sure which) (spirit gauge is used for specials), or decrease your opponents. Whoever hits it faster wins, if you win, you continue with the combo, the opponent wins, they counter you from behind.
These are speculations of the system, so yea. If this changes your view, remember one thing. Create a Character mooooooode~
Girls were confirmed, and there are 6ish extra slots for created heroes, so you can try to create heroes that you wanted in the game, like Fasha and Uub. :3
They even have Uub's voice in the creater, lol.
It looks like there are still combos, it's just the testers suck. lol
Only thing you can hate about the game are the boss battles. They suck donkey pomegranate. Hopefully I am proven wrong. .-.
