I don't see what the country being well off has to do with it. The more accessible it is to more people, the more they are going to sell.
Over here in america, one ward for the average player is probably the entirety of their hourly pay assuming they have one. I don't know what MSEA players' average salaries are but it probably isn't 42 SGD an hour or more. Asiasoft is taking a big hit choking the potential ward consumers by bumping the price to astronomically high levels.
