For Blood Shadowers (like me) it's different, we're wanted for survival, so blood washing -does- make us more usefull...
And well, Blood washing only becomes noticable usefull when you CAN survive the monster you want to survive... You need to be able to take 8000 damage (5000HP without HB) at HT. That means you need to get 1500 more HP. 10 levels of blood washing will get you 900 more HP (50*18), so at level 130, you're still not there... And HP equips will make you even more weak in damage, so you still need to keep on blood washing beyond lvl 130...
So I would say you can have 5300 HP at lvl 140, with 100 less luk... Well it's your choice... Blood wash as a NL so you can survive horntail at lvl 140+, or train to lvl 190+ and normal HP wash it... But yeah, that second option CAN take a while...
But those 5 lvls you talked about won't help you a lot... that's only 450 more HP... Meaning you're stilll 1050 HP short...
The funny thing about blood builds is that it sacrifices (or makes the advantage less of an advantage) the avoidability of a shadower. 100 more luck is a lot of avoid. o_o
