I don't think it's really such a good thing to say "she needs a good early game" to do well, mostly because her early game in a solo lane mostly isn't bad to begin with, being an energy-based champ. Sure, Akali has counters like Garen or Lee Sin. You could make the argument that she needs to be less of a hardscale champ. However I'm still of the opinion that Q could use the nerf I described, because I don't think either you or 99% of the players would actively calculate in-game the right time to strike someone and burst them down or anything to the degree of accuracy that accounts for such a miniscule damage nerf.
Frankly I don't think it would be surprising that Riot goes further (they're more likely to nerf her scaling imo), but that's assuming they're taking this route to nerfing her.
