I will have to kindly disagree. I'm a HUGE LoZ fan, and I've played every game besides the LOL ones Opeth mentioned and a few of the handheld ones (I don't own a DS).
Twilight Princess is an incredible game and probably gave me the most fun I've had playing a console game in YEARS. It truly is a game that everyone with ANY respect/love for games should play. However, despite its obvious improvements on OoT (graphics, etc), I still believe Ocarina of Time is the best LoZ ever made (overall). Some of the MAJOR things I feel OoT holds the title of "Best" in:
- Best story in the series
- Best bosses
- Best Temples/Dungeons (puzzle, layout and enemy wise)
- Best items/weapons

Obviously, I would award many of the "Bests" to Twilight Princess, as well. But I just can't say it's better than Ocarina of Time. That game is as close to perfection (especially considering when it was made) as you can get. I always go into every LoZ equally and very open-minded. In my eyes, they are all top-quality, beautifully made games - that I've replayed several times apiece.
I'm not ignorant, nor am I drenched in nostalgia. Maybe that is the case with a great deal of people (sadly), but I'm sure even more people feel the same way I do about OoT and would agree or provide even better support.

@ Greg, you are missing out on one of the best LoZ games by not playing TP. You really will regret it.
