Microsoft Windows Server 8 - We Nobify EVERYTHING... PART DEUX....
#7
Devil Wrote:Uhm, that's not true. Smile
wikipedia article you linked Wrote:The Open Group, an industry standards consortium, owns the “UNIX” trademark. Only systems fully compliant with and certified according to the Single UNIX Specification are qualified to use the trademark; others might be called "Unix system-like" or "Unix-like" (though the Open Group disapproves[1] of this term). However, the term "Unix" is often used informally to denote any operating system that closely resembles the trademarked system.

Devil Wrote:Microsoft themselves state that they made Win8 Server NoGUI to save resources and make Win8 Server more powerful. It's in almost every press release from Microsoft themselves.
I asked for a citation on your "5 to 10% cpu usage" of the GUI and for the Windows Server 8 GUI using more resources than previous Windows Server versions, not compared to a command line.

Devil Wrote:Companies will have to rewrite and migrate a lot of their applications anyway, since -ANY- WinServer app that needed a GUI, doesn't work on Win8 Server NoGUI.
In the rare case that they needed the GUI system for an application, they wouldn't turn it off, now would they?
