Requiring it to be put into anime form in order for it to be good is not a good thing.

I'd find it pretty odd if it's in reverse. Normally in fight scenes, fluid motion is better than sliding pictures. From reading I don't think you just have the sophistication to appreciate the story, irony's, foreshadow'd events, and the real climax's in the text rather than the fists.
