Guys what are your opinions on how Lux should be played? I really really think she's decent support style so I always try to go ap carry mid with her, but I get flamed for that occassionally. I got reported for trolling today because after being forced on the support role 2 times I decided to just insist on getting mid and proceeded to draw with enemy soraka. I also got flamed for bringing clarity to the field instead of ignite because I believe Lux is supposed to be played long range and ignite is impractical for that. Furthermore I don't really play her as a burster but more as an amazing poker and I just try to deal as much damage to every enemy in a teamfight instead of just bursting one single one down. I realize that ragers happen in every game and I've tons of games that I did very well with her, but it really got me wondering on her viability.
I go 9/0/21 with magic penetration marks, scaling mana reg/5 seals, scaling ap glyphs and flat ap quintessences. I tend to run flash/clarity to have one sustaining spell (especially with junglers that just suck at giving blue) and one escaping spell if all hell breaks loose (or to counter annoying gap closers/enemy flashes over wall with laser on cd). Ghost or teleport can be substituted for either but I usually just run this. I start with a dorans ring almost everytime and get as many as I find to be neccassary. If I do well I leave it at 1 and rush sorcerers and deathcap. After deathcap I usually go void staff and after that it really depends on how it's going. If we're winning somewhat I go lichs bane but otherwise I go hourglass/still lichs bane(for the magic resist)/negatron cloak. Usually the game ends around here. My masteries, blue buff and blue elixer get me at around the cap for that delicious laser of 24 seconds. I rely on runes/blue buff/clarity to keep my mana up at a decent level at all times. Items are mainly for damage. I believe Lux is one of the few champions who can get away fairly well with being this 'glass cannon-like' because of her incredible range on her spells and ofcourse carrying flash. So how do you guys play your Luxxes? Do you go for the ap carry build, support build or even the rarely seen AD build? I forgot to mention that I go E>Q>E>W and then prioritze R>E>Q>W.
