Lol, I saw this as them being too lazy to come in at 2am. The problem with the day time maintenance is that by the time the community catches on to any problems, (usually 2-3 hrs after, minimum unless its huge) they've all gone home for the day high-fiving themselves for a good maintenance.
Not to be insensitive towards our Australian friends, as this clearly conveniences them, but I'm really not seeing how the time change could be benefiting us. As far as GM's being awake etc, who in the hardware/software industry isn't used to late hours?
