But you are missing a giant point in your argument. Dubstep is not just...remixes. Sure there are some, and probably a good 40% of the songs out there are "remixes" done by amateurs. Most of the time I prefer music made by professionals, who do not typically produce a remix and would rather create a brand new song.

Here is an example of a professionally produced song by Fenech Soler, which was remixed by the well known artist Doctor P.
Hell, here is an example of Drum and Bass remixed by a Dubstep artist.
Some artists can go as far as to create music videos with the production quality of any other musical artist of this time.
And if you search hard enough, you can find some real gems. Really good remixes done of really good songs.
