Susano is a ninjutsu and the sword of totsuka is part of susano and can thus be absorbed. Just because it seals you in an eternal genjutsu doesn't mean the sword itself is. Also the taijutsu would then be kenjutsu.

Calling them different names is redundant, Taijutsu = Body techniques. If you want to go around pulling redundant names for every single type of weapon in Naruto out, have fun, everyone else is just going to call them taijutsu (aside: that would mean Guy and Lee aren't Taijutsu only users since they have skill with weapons, yes I know guy showed summoning, again pointless for this discussion), and that proves absolutely nothing regarding the discussion either way.

The sword isn't a ninjutsu. During the Sasuke Itachi fight, Zetsu states that Orochimaru spent a long time looking for the sword of Totsuka, and that itachi owned it instead. Zetsu also called it a "treasure" of some sort, so we knew not only is it a physical item with a genjutsu applied to it (possibly in a similar way people apply nature chakra to swords), but that it exists and isn't a part of the Susanno technique. Which also makes sense as to why Sasuke does not have the sword, it was and remains in itachi possession somehow. Possibly he uses a summoning technique to bring it whenever he needs to for susano (makes sense as to why it wasn't there initially either time he has used Susano). Further, just susano using it doesn't make it a ninjutsu. It has a physical form and could pick up anything. Say that Susanno was used to lift up a tree, that wouldn't make it a Ninjutsu tree. Same goes for the sword.

Why he doesn't absorb every attack that comes its way? Plot induced-stupidty that's why.

Funny, he had absolutely no problem absorbing every attack that used chakra wasn't genjutsu/Taijutsu based that in every situation that came his way (or towards his absorbing body when he was using the 6 paths. If you have to blame it on "dur he got suddenly stupid" vs an actual explanation, i.e. he couldn't, you should realise that you're probably wrong.

Show me where that displays the ability to absorb Genjutsu? Nowhere? Well la-de-da then. Him being able to absorb chakra from people isn't under question, especially when Ninja constantly radiate chakra and the stronger ones use that chakra for ninjutsu techniques like Bijuu cloaks or the raikages lightning armour.


Either way, I suppose outside of Nagato saying "yes I can absorb genjutsu but I'm an idiot and let it defeat me twice" or him admitting he couldn't absorb it, neither of which are likely to happen, so we're just going to be going round in circles. Therefore, I think I'm done with this discussion and I'll just take my opinion away quietly on this matter (after this post, obviously :p)
