What's right and wrong?

i remember asking one of those vegans at the festival about bio-food and freeterm eggs and all that stuff, and she told me that it maybe not as bad as industrial food, but it still involves a level of cruelty beyond killing..
i dont remember why exactly but it wont surprise if its true, for instance, we dont know what the hell is going on at those farms.. amirite?
