Saya no Uta. It's only 5 hours long, you now have no excuse to not read it. Do it now. Seriously, though- it's a damn good read.
Also, Clannad is REALLY, REALLY long. You better have a lot of time and patience for it.
But if you're also willing to read something very long, Ever17 should definitely be on your to read list.

It's pretty much Ever17 Lite according to some, it's a game that's been praised by lots of western game review sites, and it's been localized. If you really want to support the visual novel industry and see more games and visual novels like this, you should really buy this game.
