If it offers no academic advantage and only brings on more student debt then I say no. Yes you get to get out and "explore" and "meet new people" and all that fancy crap, but I'd rather be annoyed as hell around family than take on a lot of student debt for nothing but a group of friends you'll lose when you leave.
