Ambition vs. Confidence

The way I see it:

Ambitious - I want to do something
Confident - I can do something

They're related but not mutually exclusive*

*I heard Eos say that it sounded cool...

Anyway. Let's say I wanna ask a girl out.

I can be confident and think/know she'll say yes. But not be ambitious enough to do it. Or can be ambitious enough to do it.

I can be unconfident and think maybe she will say yes but maybe not. I could still be ambitious and try anyway, or I could be both unconfident and unambitious and and do nothing.

They're connected but not...Totally.

You can have ambition, but it requires confidence to carry through with it; You can have confidence, but you need ambition to completely show it.
