The first one I ever played was A Link To The Past. Because of the nostalgia that game brings - I consider it one of my favorite Zelda games. Honesty though, to me - it's hard to pick a favorite out of the ones that I've played. They're all great and unique in their own way. A Link To The Past, Link's Awakening, Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and even the very first Zelda. Ohh... I should go back and play these all over again.
Edit: I have to say though - The Water Temple in OoT... can kiss my ass. >_> That's the only part in ANY of the Zelda games that I dread getting to. >_>
lol, I seriously dont see how Water Temple is hard O_O. Everyone complains about this dungeon for some reason. I didnt find it too confusing or difficult in any way. The Miniboss and the boss are gotta be the biggest joke in OoT. Shadow link gets owned easily with the hammer and Morpha cannot touch me =P. The only hard part I could think of was the whirlpool room after the miniboss.
Other than that I considered Shadow Temple the hardest temple due to the fact it's confusing to my opinion. And believe it or not but I had trouble with the deku tree (yes the first dungeon) coz I'm arachnaphobic to Skulltulas and Gohmas (oh god I hate em
).Other than that, a link to the past was easy except for the Dark Palace dungeon and figuring out a way to get to Misery Mire =\.
