Unless things have drastically changed since last year, many schools choose not to weigh the SAT writing heavily; over the years it has undergone extreme scrutiny from various parties.
Just take a look at the statistics for student bodies at many top level colleges, you'll notice their SAT mid range is shown as a range out of 1600 rather than 2400.
