Going to community college is NOT a bad idea if you can't afford a 4 year university. Usually the first and second year of university, as I've been told countless times, are the same the thing that you can get at a community college without the debt. Also, there are usually really good transfer programs and chances to get your last two years at a Uni almost fully covered.
