I think VL getting glitched has something to do with the amount of members inside, because I tried to duo with a friend a few days before the patch, and we got it down to about 2/5ths health in the first 5 minutes and then it started destroying us, and we eventually left.
Edit: Another theory ive heard is that the bosses stop attacking if you can maintain a certain amount of DPS on them. This might explain why they're unglitched for 1-2 people, but when you go with 3-4 they get glitched.

Haven't zakked with multiple people since chaos, but czak still gets glitched post v1.00 as well, i went yesterday.
You can still just cast puppet(or, in my case, mirrored target) twice, and then afk at all major bosses.
