I am only bumping this 3 day old thread to give my 2 cents on chaosing...
Don't do it unless you have nothing better to spend on. You can run through bils of mesos very fast, and not get anything better than straight 50%s. Of course this partly makes sense mathematically (you have to get +3-+5 attack to be better than the 50s), and also partly because I got extremely unlucky with chaoses (I had 8 atk a few times after 2 slots, and they all went -5 atk, literally all of them).
If you plan to chaos the first 3 slots, expect to shell out a minimum of 3-4b to surpass 50%ing 3 times.
