I was cubing a CZak a few days ago. Took about 40 from Epic to Unique so wasn't that bad, another 90 or so to get what I wanted.
I've heard a lot of stories like yours though. Bryan uploaded a video earlier today of him cubing his Von Leon Gloves and he used a ton of cubes getting it to Unique as well, so maybe they nerfed it or something so they could get more money? Seems like something Nexon would do.
