Normal area boss locations that spawn the area boss still spawn the area boss. Additionally, you can fight the area boss in an instanced area. Some bosses, like the new Pepe Queen, and Master Birk are only fightable in the instanced area, which only only available once per hour, and you can't cc to bypass the time limit.
