The way the community is reacting to this announcement makes me sick honestly. Riot puts in all this effort to make a completely new map and game mode and people are angry that it's not just a new map. They could've not announced ANYTHING at all this week and people would be happier with Riot. Personally, I'm really looking forward to the new game mode. I think it looks interesting and I like how they're trying to innovate and see what else they can do in the moba genre.
People are angry because they sat there and hyped the hell out of this for no reason. Not only does it not sound that great, but its not even coming out yet.
