Oh no! Sony made a system that cost over 500 dollars to play games on your portable instead of your TV oh no! Nintendo is screwed they totally don't have a better system at all its completely inferior in all aspects, and they don't have backing of multiple third parties who are famous for graphically intense games and they totally don't own Mario,Zelda,Metroid,and Kirby obviously. They are so pathetic huh?

Just to make this post constructive: no one said that Nintendo will fail or that they're screwed. The news is definitely influential, because as someone with only one TV, I thought the idea of transmitting your console play to a handheld screen was brilliant when the Wii U was announced. I watch a lot of prime time television (House <3) and have to stop playing a game because of it. So this was very appealing to me. However, as the Playstation brand carries more titles that I enjoy and has way more third party support than Nintendo, and the fact that I already own a PS3, this piece of information about the Vita is incredibly influential in what I will buy next. Not only will I get the support I could look forward to from the Wii U on a cheaper piece of hardware in connection with hardware I currently own but it's far more certain that games that appeal to me will be appearing on that hardware.
Also most of Nintendo's first party titles, like the ones you've mentioned, have only one good release every few years. If I'm paying big money for something, I certainly expect more consistency than that.
