The definition of a good game is something you'll fire up every once in a while just to play. You don't need a reason to. You just enjoy it. That's real replay value. Achievement systems are just an excuse for developers to make their games seem bigger. This is especially true in your case since you don't even care about showing off your trophies.

Well, to be clear, I haven't once stated that trophies add replay value because in most cases that simply isn't true, though games like Catherine do reward you with trophies for multiple endings. But typically they're about extended play and full exposure. I agree that a great game is one that you replay on occasion just because you love it.

The reason what you're saying makes you elitist is that you're suggesting that your reasons for going above and beyond in games are somehow more noble simply because you aren't being rewarded for doing it.
