For a concrete example, the 10% crit ring on my paladin takes me from 56% crit, 41~50% to 66% crit, 41~50%. So that bumps a 25.5% bonus to 30.0% bonus. Which is about a 3.6% total damage increase.
With my current %stats hovering around 50%, beating it would require 6%str or better - which is 3%str,2%str,1%all - and ignores the 2atk vs. whatever +stat on it.
In any case the difference is gonna be small considering the cost of cubing to unique and getting good stats. So I would not bother with it.
+ with SE, it's even better.
