Does that make his battles any less entertaining though? For me they don't at least.
He beat him using a plan, that actually worked. Uryuu plans are only temporary, shik gets the job done, the end. Having two immortal warriors, one who just needs a drop of your blood to kill you, is certaintly not easy to beat.
I'm just saying that Shikamaru and Uryuu are both nothing to the current power scaling in naruto and bleach. They both have to rely on wit to beat their opponent. Uryuu certainly hasn't gone against lousy opponents (2 espada, 1 captain) either. Hidan isn't exactly THAT great of a ninja. He's a one-trick pony and would get beaten by any mid/long range somewhat great ninja.
The hell does uryuu do besides 3 things? Shikamaru's technique is at a constant change as it relies on sunlight. Uruyuu just spams arrows, when that doesn't work, he tries to use a sword that's essentially the same thing. And if that doesn't work he has to set up this ridiculous "nuke" that doesn't even do all that much damage.
The hell does Ichigo do besides 1 thing? Sword slashing. Seems uryuu got the upper hand here, doesn't he?
