I don't hate America, it's just stuff like this that makes me feel weird to know that people like that actually exist. Most of these radical opinions though don't come from the areas I've lived in, luckily, where extremists don't really just walk the streets and say these kind of things without any remorse.
But what Sarah said; it's mainly the history classes not providing the BIG picture and just the history/war aspect of the past relations we've had with countries and the parents who grew up/taught while growing up to NOT LIKE these people because they did ______. We still have KKK members walking around the south burning people and protesting blacks because they grew up without any knowledge except the fact that anybody who wasn't their skin tone deserves to be dead.
@Moonlapse - There's no doubting people like that exist, and most of them being middle-aged sure, do you think they are gonna raise their children (or better yet already have) if they have any, to be the OPPOSITE of them? No they're going to raise them to be just like them, and hate others that aren't like them. All of it is just too radical and ignorant and it has to make you think how scary it is to live in a country that has not just a few people like that here and there, but A LOT of people like that. (There's a lot at my school but they don't go around causing hate crimes, they are just overly racist and right wing to ever consider being morally secure)
