Playing Leona for the first time in a normal game
So I decided to bring out Leona in a normal game. Laned with Corki, and went against a Nidalee and an enemy Leona. I managed to snatch first blood, while Corki took the 2nd kill.
We were doing well overall, though we had a few scary moments. We pushed all lanes, and pretty much won almost every fight we were in.
All I gotta say is....she has very solid initiation skills, and is very balanced overall. She could be buffed a bit later on (though I'm not expecting it).
At this moment, I will probably have to play her a bit more before bringing her to ranked matches.
-----------------------
A bit more info about Leona's skills after playing her the second time, in terms of how you can use the skills to do other things beyond its intended purposes....
Q (Shield of Daybreak): After playing a second time, not only can you combo this skill with Zenith Blade for 2+ second CC on your target, you can use it to push towers a bit (however, hold your horses; based on my experience, its only decent at doing so, but better than nothing). However, if you had thought of proccing Sheen or Trinity Force effects with Shield of Daybreak, sorry to burst your bubble, but those items have been proven to not be compatible with Leona.
W (Eclipse): Once you have higher ranks of Eclipse, use it to farm up creep waves. Deals a lot of damage to them too! It somewhat solves the farming problem she has.
E (Zenith Blade): Obviously, learn how to aim and hit the skillshot. However, do use this carefully because this skill will usually send you TPing to the last champion you hit (you'll likely hit a squishy). In other words: Know when to use it, you don't want to initiate a fight too early.
R (Solar Flare): Since this skill has a short effective radius, it is best to use it on high-value targets (squishies and whatnot). Of course, if enemies are clustered together, that's a good opportunity to drop it on them. However, the range in which you can cast Solar Flare is quite large.
