I almost wonder if there are compatibility issues with certain graphics drivers, because it actually used to work better on my old pc with integrated graphics from circa 2001, at least as far as bossing went. That was also during ver .27 though, so the game was quite a bit different all around. Regardless of my drivers being up to date, my ram being 4 gigs, my video card being more than powerful enough to run it, maple simply doesn't allow me to boss on that system, so i've accepted it.
Edit: it's worth noting, i can boot into windows 7 on the same machine and maple will not exhibit this behavior.
I never said anything about your particular system. I disagreed with your claim that Maple works indiscriminately across all XP machines and presented reference. Anecdotal, that may be, but it's still as relevant a case as yours is. I have heard of countless instances where your scenario happens, but I have also had plenty of contacts who never had any noticeable issues.
I used to run Maple on an NVIDIA GS 8400 card if it helps.
