One inherent problem with your metaphor is that drinking milk is not a singular method to achieve the health benefits it provides; it's an alternative.
There are all sorts of other ways to gain the same benefits.
The same isn't true of balancing classes; there's only one way to put classes on equal footing.

I see you aren't following. There are more than one way to benefit the business, balancing classes debatably is one of them.

They wouldn't do it if they didn't think it was worth the effort.
That's not an assumption; it's business.

Just because they do it does not imply they AIM to achieve it. Big Bang, Chaos, Jump, what-have-yous are NOT attempts to make the game fair (as it inherently never is), they serve to refresh the game that has gone on for 7-something years and pull in new and old players alike.

If they truly wish for class balance, they wouldn't have time and time again pumped out ridiculously overpowered class AFTER having tried to balance the ones before those. It's like building yourself a lego castle then go play bowling with it. It's illogical at best and idiotic at worst to assume they do, let alone asserting such.
