Eh, maybe if you're dexless with really bad attack gear. 3:1 or 4:1 is more likely in decent level ranges. My Paladin has 227:840 or 262:840 depending if DS is on or not, making it 3.7:1 or 3.2:1.
For most of the game my Paladin's ratio has been around 4:1, recently attack gear became easier to get (seriously I have 87 non-weapon atk now, and I'm not wearing anything chaos'd for attack, it's ridiculous)
