My boyfriend and I were watching CNN last night to see it pass. What a Friday night! LOL.
Yeah, I was a bit put off by the 'protection of religious institutions' amendment they out on the bill. Haven't read up on what it actually protects though.
But congratulations to all of the gay New Yorkers. "ALL OF THE BOYS ARE GAY!!" as my sister in Manhattan says regularly. It's a great step in this fight for rights.

I'm not quite sure why religious institutions needed protection. Would they normally be required to perform a ceremony for any two people the State allows to marry?
