Try not to expect anything of superior quality from pop music/culture. They're making money off catering to the lowest common denominator, and it's working. Doesn't mean it can't also be entertaining at the same time.
I just avoid it altogether. The one-in-a-lifetime good mainstream stuff is not worth pulling all my hair out for. Unless you mean entertaining in a different way, then why yes, I concur.
