Removing/Nerfing Onyx Apples-How would it effect the game?

A simple way to nerf apples is to give bosses a skill/spell that affects ATK in the same way rage can override an apple. Apples are useful at bosses because bosses can't dispel their effects. If bosses are given an ability to affect ATK, then the use of apples at boss battles would require more consideration. Are you going to just re-apple each time your apple bonus gets nullified or are you going to apple only after boss uses atk affect ability and go parts of the battles without the +atk bonus? Or maybe your new strategy will require you to time the casting of holy shield when you see boss performing animation prior to casting the -atk ability so the applers in the party will be immune to that effect. Add more strategy to boss battles instead of just using apples to cut down on battle time.
