I only stated that we were "best in the world" a.k.a "world champions" and you jumped on me about how Canadians are better than Finnish players, you would win if you cared about world cup... Do you think we had all our NHL players in World cup? No we didn't.
It's fine. If you choose to be obstinate and blind in your Canadian nationalism, that's fine by me. Truth hurts sometimes. I'm sorry. Keep being deluded by how awesome you think your country's hockey is.
Truth is that you completely misunderstood what I said and started to brag about how Canada is the best Ice Hockey country in the world. And btw, I can ensure you that there is no "best country", because certainly at least countries like Sweden, USA, Czech and Russia have the right to think the same.
Once again you were the one to instigate such an argument. Your very first post showed your ignorance and blatant disregard for anything that isn't Finnish. Big woop, Finland won the 2011 World Championships. Yes, that is an accomplishment, but your Finland team has yet to win a gold medal at the Olympic games, nor was their presence heavily felt during the Stanley Cup finals this past week. Both of which are far more noteworthy victories compared to a World Championship.
Stating an absolute fact (that Canada is better than Finland at hockey) isn't exactly Canadian nationalism. Especially since Retalion never actually jumped on you with that. You were the first one to jump on any nationalism bandwagon, and again, you did so in your first post. The only one being blinded by nationalism here is you, since you choose to ignore facts and only believe that because of a single victory in a tournament that does not mean as much as the Olympics and NHL Stanley Cup, Finland is the best out there. You can state that you don't believe they're the best all you want, but you've posted more than enough times for us to know that you do.
Counting both men and women's ice hockey Olympic medals:
Canada - 11 Gold, 5 Silver, 2 Bronze (18)
United States - 3 Gold, 10 Silver, 2 Bronze (15)
Finland - 0 Gold, 2 Silver, 5 Bronze (7)
As far as the NHL goes, they have the 5th/6th most players in the NHL (which isn't saying much considering Canada and the US make up over 75%). Even with that amount, most of them are backups, with a few exceptions of good players.
Fact is when you want to play professional hockey, no matter where you live, you strive to play in the NHL, and to win a Stanley Cup. Those who don't, they want to get an Olympic gold medal. Not a World Championship medal.
