Assigning professions to characters
#16
Rhayn Wrote:So it seems ores and raw materials are pretty easy to obtain. Does that mean it'd be a better idea to refine all my existing ores now and stockpile them as crafting material, instead of keeping them in raw form to get profession exp from refining them later?

I'd leave them as ores, it's more efficient. Eg. 100 silver ore becomes 10 plates now, 50 plates after the patch.

Also, being able to reset your Fatigue probably helps quite a lot.

So if I want the full PVP set on my NL, it needs to go Blacksmith + Accessory Crafting? (assuming I want to actually succeed in 1 try, ie. get level 10 ahead of time)

And WRT the Gemstone Imps, I don't really get what I'm supposed to do with them. 2 of mine fell asleep from eating too much (wake up in 21 hours), the other one I've been feeding Etcs to, and it's still awake.

Items to gain Accessory Crafting:
to rise to Level 2: 5 x Silver/Opal
Level 3: 12 x Orihalcon/Amethyst
Level 4: 21 x Steel/Sapphire
Level 5: 32 x Adamantium
Level 6: 45 x Emerald/DEX + ? x Intermediate Item Crystal
Level 7: 60 x Gold/Topaz
This is all forging the basic types of rings, assuming you go for the minimum recipes. You can do 20 a day, plus whatever you get by resting (not sure how often you regain fatigue).
Day 1: Level 3 @ 300
Day 2: Level 4 @ 200
Day 3: Level 4 @ 2200
Day 4: Level 5 @ 1000
Day 5: Level 5 @ 3000
Day 6: Level 6 @ 500
Day 7: Level 6 @ 2500
Day 8: Level 6 @ 4500
Day 9: Level 7 with 25 Fatigue left.

So if you have the ores (plus can get your hands on some monster crystals) it'll take a little over a week to get to level 7 with full efficiency recipes, if you just log on once a day and use up all your fatigue.
At level 7, you can't use full efficiency items anymore because they all require recipes for each forging.

Since Gold is/was common as pineapple (I have lots, anyway. I think they're from APQ bonus), you may want to continue with those to level 10.
Level 8: 7700 mastery @ 95 per forge = 82 rings (80 + 1 level 7 accessory works too)
Level 9: 9600 mastery @ 90 per forge = 107 rings
Level 10: 11700 mastery @ 86 per forge = 137 rings (135 + 1 level 7/8/9 accessory works too)
So a total of 386 gold/topaz is necessary to hit level 10, and another 16 days from level 7.
25 days to max out Accessory Crafting with the requisite items is not all that bad. Probably easier than collecting all those PvP badges.

You'll also need 38 basic abrasives (38k), 463 intermediate abrasives (2.3 million), if you go this route, but that's fairly cheap.

If you mine all this crap yourself, you'll need 1544 Gold/Topaz ore, 180 Emerald/DEX ore, 96 Adamantium ore, 63 Steel/Sapphire ore, 24 Orihalcon/Amethyst ore, and 10 Silver/Opal ore. This will take 19 days to mine on a single character, 5 days to smelt.

So conveniently if you mine on one character and forge rings on another, you'll have both at level 10 on day 25.
