This will make you shed a few tears

Excuse my lack of heart but since Paul (or before? not sure since I don't follow) haven't there been quite a few people with sad background, mostly average to ugly, that turned out to be great singers?

Sorry but to me that looks too odd to be just coincidence and even more considering that brings a huge amount of people to watch the show and ends up rising the ratings and we know that means more money.

So if I didn't shed any tear wasn't because it isn't a sad story (but there are worse that turned out better than most of us) but because the world is just too greedy that is kind of hard to belive this kind of things.

ETA: Or actually theres no conspiracy but is just that great singers are common but since we get so fed up with bad singers that when we hear something a bit better we go "OMG thats so beautiful".
