Back in December when we were the first to kill PB, we were selling our MW30's for the cheapest you'd see on the market and the reverse items were dramatically underpriced, cheaper than you see now even with all the hackers farming. Because holding onto something to get the absolute highest that <1% of the market is willing to pay is actually less profitable than selling for what 2% of the market is willing to shell out for.
The reason, I think, that you're saying the way we're doing things, or used to do things, is inefficient is because you're assuming the same baseline price for all items. Back during the large HT squad runs the items were standardized, mw20/30, TT30, Zerk30 and Gen30. Equips, afaik, weren't a big issue. If a shiner bow dropped, i'm pretty sure they were just given to a runner or sold for like 30% of it's worth. During PB, no one wanted the reverse so that wasn't an issue, and the MW30 was standardized and we had the set price for runners of a couple runs, but everyone could use it. No variation.
Empress is totally different. We're now talking about individual equipment, which isn't standardized. Claws are more expensive than BW's. But is it fair for someone to earn a weapon with less runs than another person? I don't really think so. What if the weapon is way below? Does that count? Say the gear that dropped is 2 lines or 3 lines, is that extra? There are all these extra variables that would make assigning credits a lot more difficult and undoubtedly some people would feel like they were getting the short end of the stick. This is avoided by giving everyone their splits for the sales and when you earn enough, you can buy for a discount if you're contributed enough.
I used to think that too but I organized PB for a while and it's not the case. Having 10 mw30's is great, selling them is different. Reverse is more applicable. Timeless as well. We could've put the daggers and overalls up for 200m like you'd see when someone makered them but instead, in the interest of actually selling them in a timely fashion, we put them up for 70ish and 30-50 for the overalls. Keep in mind that the runners are putting their money into these runs for apples and wheels if the crashers mess up or whatever, sh'it happens lol, and as the host you want to get your runners their splits. Leaving items up for sale for two weeks because someone at some point will come along and buy them isn't cost efficient.
Yes, we run with apples and wheels. Those aren't free. While it's possible to do the run without apples, using them makes the run far more productive, especially when we're doing double runs because people don't have all the time in the world. Again, it's an issue of being cost efficient. Getting a guild pot for apples and wheels is a great idea that i've considered a little but I don't find it practical. Not everyone is married, not everyone runs, not everyone is available for the runs that wants to come, not everyone is invited, what if someone's donated a lot more than others, is there a reward for that person? Mandatory donations if you want to go on the run? And for those that aren't in the guild?
It's a great idea but in practicality it's more difficult when trying to trim the edges of the runners and get the most refined and efficient squad.
If they are dedicated, they get this fancy discount and they get to come on the run. I'll refer back to pb as I feel it's the most applicable. In the month of off and on runs I helped organize, all the consistent runners made upwards of 2b. And that's not including the 4+ mw30's and 5 RoT's and a good dozen or more reverse equips that were on a mule that got hacked. I personally gave up 8xxm of my own splits to try and make up for that lost mule that I earned in subsequent runs. So you should be able to see that there's enough money to buy the equip if we get things streamlined. Keep in mind that we're not milking runners for cash, a 1b equip would be sold to a runner for 400m or so I anticipate. That's easily affordable after a couple runs.
The same things can be said of paying for the item what if it booms? what if its below or 2 lined half of that stuff you cant even know until your using it.
As for the guild thing it works quite well most of the things you brought up aren't a problem. The way your talking about donating is just breeding comptition which is dumb its a group effort everyone going on the runs knows right from the start "hey I'm getting the items I want and making money at the same time" as for people donating different amounts that can simply be discussed.
Since this is the empress were talking about its not only weapons that drop its overall shoes capes everything setting up who loots what is as simple as asking what item do you want most not everyone is gonna want the weapon right off the back some might want the gloves or cape. Since they are different equips there are times when nobody wants anything that drops say a spear drops and all your drks use only polearms(or better yet they have the 130 polearm already) simply sell the spear an xbow drops you don't have any MM or WHs with you sell it.
As for the selling of equips it takes time your way someone might be waiting a while to get splits so they can buy the weapon and you've done 2 or 3 runs but nothing has sold yet. Since this is something new being introduced into the market don't it to sell quickly. My way you get what you want and you just play the waiting game for things you want to sell while everyone on your run is happy with their new equips.
As for people not being married for apple farming Your telling me with all the cash you spent on cubes you all of a sudden cant come up with 13k nx to get married so you never have to pay 15m every other day(or how every often you run again). Again that's on you for people not having time If you have time to go do the boss run you can take 15 mins out of your day to apq with your guild or friends. You take a few hours outa the day to do double PB runs why cant you include apq into that?
This isn't about it being practical its about you not wanting to do it
