Xenogears would've been the closest I've seen to having multiple buttons equally pressed. It happens to have been a great game, but that doesn't mean much.
Judging by the comments in this thread, I do feel like giving it a try, though I didn't particularly enjoy anything from FFX onwards, I'm not so very inclined.
