Glad to hear the steak cooked well enough. It's unfortunate that it turned out so salty though. Here's a possible tip to use for the next time you cook anything in general with seasoning/flavoring: go light at first, and gradually add more flavor until satisfied with the taste. You can always add more flavor if the taste sucks, but it's very hard or impossible to reduce/take away excess flavor. A dish with too little flavor is still edible, but a dish with too much flavor can be very hard to stomach.
You'll eventually get a feel on how much flavoring/seasoning to add to a specific amount of food. It's tricky to get used to, and rather hard to master. Even now I still doubt myself every now and then, and gotta ask my mom or siblings if I added enough flavor to whatever I'm cooking. Most of the time I added enough, but sometimes it falls a bit flat and that's where I manage to avoid a bland dish.
