If I told them I played, would they judge me? Yes, I do care a lot about what people think of me. I can admit I am insecure at times, although I do agree that being aware of what others think of you is a good thing unless you're fine with being a loner and not having friends.
There's nothing wrong with putting a limit on how much you share your life with others. I have no need to tell anyone about my gaming habits, and Maplestory is a kiddie looking game that has turned pretty pomegranatety anyway so yes I am embarrassed that I do play it sometimes. I keep my gamer life completely separate from my social life because I have no desire to combine the two.
There is a HUGE difference in the way these ideals are presented.
Do you think Maplestory is an embarrassment and that you should not expose the fact that you play it to other people? Fine.
Are you claiming it's an outright truth that Maplestory is a purely embarrassing game to play? I don't think so unless I read wrong.
If people feel insecure about what they do in life, that's normal and fine. Don't, however, start going everywhere and actually lecturing other people on how it is humiliating and pathetic to expose your interests into other people.
I don't care what other people think about me, and, believe it or not, a lot of people respect that in real life.
