Protip: Idiots like millions on things of Facebook everyday simply because they like them, unless they start doing a bunch of annoying spammy messages about how wonderful and lovely the thing they liked is they are in no way "shouting out HEY I LIKE SOMETHING WITH NO MERIT/LIKABLE QUALITIES LIKE LICKING THE SOLE OF A FOOT in front of all of your friends". The fact that your friends can see what you liked doesn't count either because people like millions of things everyday and your friends, unless stalkers, don't really care.
Maybe one of your friends will see it and ask about it, maybe you'll say a few things about it, maybe you'll shout how wonderful beautiful and awesome it is. However those who act like annoying twats are only an embarrassment to themselves, liking MapleStory in a public setting is not an embarrassment in itself.
The point is that you should be embarrassed when you like something embarrassing. You should want for it to be private because it's embarrassing. People shouldn't openly like things like Glee, MapleStory, and Lady Gaga. They should shut themselves in their rooms and enjoy them privately, because that's the only way any of those things can possibly BE enjoyed.
People need to learn that shame is an important quality.
Also people who talk about video games irl are all the worst kind of people. Can't stand them.
