Also, a good idea with the scroll NPC would be to make the items in very limited quantity, say 50 scrolls per item ID every 12 hours or more, to make them not TOO easy to get, but kind of like how the free market is now anyway.
Remember, the point of this is more to give the Chinese hackers absolutely nothing to make money on, rather than giving merchants something to do. If you're only playing the game to buy and sell items in the free market, that's not really playing, is it? ;X Sure, I get it's nice to make money, but that's not really the point of the game.
who are you to say what's fun? I hate leveling and I love having my collection of items. so merchanting is alot of the gameplay for me. I spend more time doing that then anything else. but I do agree the economy has gone far out of hand. back in the day 2b lasted a while, I've gone through 15-20b in the last week alone and my char isn't "Godly" or anything. 15-20b! that is 10x the max amount of mesos a character is supposed to have. 3 years ago 2b was ALOT it really was and I'd know because i've been playing since 1 week before broa was released ( a week after I joined broa was released but i dunno what that exact date it ) and since then I've always wanted certain items so my only option was to merchant.
SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG HERE! but what is causing all this inflation I do not know.
potential system is partially responsible because of the sheer amount of money people have to put in to get 1 perfect item, because face it, if you're item isn't shining yellow with 3 lines unique and you bought it from a person who sells high priced items often then it is infact a leftover, it wasn't even considered good enough to keep. meaning more money went into the game. the cost of certain things MUST rise however at the same time the poor players and those of us without any way to get NX ( like moi ) are being crushed by already high prices on everything. let's face it , if you're unfunded then you have to do everything way later and some things are just off limits.
first off changing potion costs won't do squat, if your rich you don't even look at how much they cost and if you're not then it's a problem.
as for mastery books, I understand this is how alot of players make their money however putting these in a vendor won't effect GMS at all, the rich players, I mean the really rich ones .. the ones that make even me look poor as dirt , don't level up and to them these books are just a slight inconvenience they owl them and buy a dozen of them , 150m-300m is nothing. it's potion costs for a new character (apple training) they'll spend 2b a month on aesthetics.
putting scrolls in a vendor might cause inflation. sure it's easier to scroll a perfect item therefore it becomes the new standard and now these perfect items cost a ton and potential becomes EVEN MORE IMPORTANT so even more money down the drain.
the problem here is that what nexon needs and what we need arn't aligned . more cubes bought, more mushie shops, more people buying nx cards to mts for equips = profit , but for us these things equal inflation.
only thing I can do and I guess the rest of us will be able to do is just adjust to the changes in the market and keep up.
