Wednesday, 5AM: Game up.
Wednesday, 1PM: Exploit perfected to acquire infinite insignia and/or make the NPC give prizes for other items (arrows?) rather than insignia.
Wednesday-Friday: Exploit used by a few to make NX (through MTS) and real-world money (selling meso to meso-selling sites, etc).
Friday, 11AM: Exploit goes public.
Weekend: Exploit used by every script-kiddie and his sister to amass white scrolls and w/e other goodies and stash on mules, and also make NX and real-world money to the limits of their ingenuity.
Monday, 10AM: Nexon employee logs on to Nexon forums and sees a full screen of "Take the game down NOW for the love of God!"
Monday, 10:05AM: Game down while Nexon debates whether to roll back 4 days (including 8 hours of 2x that were already a compensation for a foul up) or try yet again to punish only the exploiters, with predictable results.
So predictable. So preventable, or at least containable. Think it will be? Keep dreaming.
