Odd, rammus was the champion i did the best on, and i ended with plenty of gold and finished the creeps in jungle easily and ganked when i had red / there was a possibility for it. Yi wasn't the most effective but it worked. And WW? You best be kidding, WW is so easy to jungle with, with or without runes. And on WW i never had to recall unless it was for shopping.

Pantheon is melee and he deals damage, what do you want to call him then?

And @ above, ofcourse runes make it easier, but it's bullpomegranate that you NEED runes to jungle on most champions.
