It also poses the pathway from protein back to the DNA and claim that to be unprecedented. Essentially, it formally describes the fact that genotypical patterns are reflected on the phenotype and not the other way around and the mechanism behind that fact, which is details, not "basically".
And it would be fine to point out my misconceptions. I'm here to learn.
