-Making the game looking even more retarded and more childish than it already is. MapleStory is already being criticised for looking extremely childish, and having Disney character NPCs in it just proves everyone's points. "Oh hahaha, what kind of MMO has 'Goofy' and 'Donald Duck' as an NPC?!".
Of course, keeping in mind that one of the better RPGs was made by Disney (along with SquareEnix iirc?) was Kingdom Hearts. But everyone knew it was coming, and it was to be expected. I never liked it, some of my friends does, and thus is my point. It's all very opinionated depending on your standpoint.
Notice how this relates to MapleStory. It is a game which is simple and cutesy, good for children, yet also can appeal to adults as well. For example, take a look around these forums. Notice how many of them are adults, or will be adults in a few short years. Notice how many players in MapleStory are high school age or better and compare this to the amount of elementary kids you see on MapleStory.
